Siam Paragon
Experience luxury shopping one BTS stop away
Siam Paragon is the largest of the malls clustered around the Siam interchange and one of the busiest shopping destinations in Southeast Asia. It combines international luxury retail, a cinema complex, one of Bangkok’s better food halls and a full aquarium under one roof. From Mercure Bangkok Siam Ratchathewi it is one BTS stop, roughly three minutes.
Getting to Siam Paragon
Take the BTS from Ratchathewi one stop south to Siam. The mall connects to the station by a covered walkway on the north side, so you arrive at first-floor level without crossing a road. Walking takes about twenty minutes down Phaya Thai Road, passing Siam Square.

What is on each floor
The ground and first floors carry international fashion houses, jewellery and watches. Mid-levels move into Thai and regional labels, electronics, books and homeware. The upper floors hold restaurants and a large multiplex cinema.
The basement contains Gourmet Market, a food hall that doubles as one of the best places in central Bangkok to buy Thai ingredients, snacks and fruit to take home. The prepared-food counters there are a reliable, inexpensive lunch.
Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World
Below the mall sits Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World, one of the largest aquariums in Southeast Asia, with a walkthrough tunnel and feeding sessions through the day. It is the reason Siam Paragon works as a wet-afternoon option with children, and tickets are usually cheaper booked online than at the door.
Dining
Dining runs from the food hall counters in the basement to full restaurants on the upper floors covering Thai, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Western. The range is wide enough that a group with different tastes can eat in one building without compromise.
Weekday lunchtimes are calmer than weekends, when the upper floors fill from midday.
Siam Center, Siam Discovery and Siam Square
Siam Paragon is one of four destinations around the same interchange. Siam Center and Siam Discovery, connected by walkway, lean towards Thai designers and concept retail. Across the tracks, Siam Square is a grid of open lanes where prices drop sharply and the crowd is younger.
All four can be covered in a day on foot once you are on the elevated walkway system.
When to go
Siam Paragon opens daily from 10am to 10pm. Restaurants, the cinema and the aquarium keep their own hours, so check ahead for a late visit. Weekday mornings are the quietest time; weekend afternoons are the busiest in the city.
Practical notes
Cards are accepted throughout. Tourist discount cards are available at the information counters for visitors with a foreign passport, and major purchases qualify for VAT refund paperwork, which is worth asking for at the point of sale rather than at the airport.
Rooms at the hotel are set out on our accommodation page.
Events and exhibitions
The ground-floor atrium and the hall on the upper levels run a near-constant programme of exhibitions, product launches, motor shows and seasonal installations. Around Songkran in April and through December the displays are substantial enough to be a reason to visit in themselves, and they are free to walk through. Anyone passing with an hour to spare will usually find something staged in the main hall.
